About the role

Right to Start is looking to hire a Digital Community Manager to lead its digital community and catalyze the movement to expand entrepreneurial opportunity for all. This position will build, scale, and manage Right to Start’s digital community, as well as generate content to educate and engage the community and Right to Start followers across its social platforms.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage, develop, execute, and be responsible for a plan to build and grow Right to Start’s online community for citizen engagement, including developing the framework, approaches, strategies, and metrics

  • Employ effective community-building techniques to attract users, create meaningful connections, and foster genuine engagement and commitment in Right to Start’s digital community

  • Connect and engage regularly with the online community, creating a culture of trust, integrity, and mission alignment

  • Create, post, and manage content on Right to Start’s social platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram)

  • Compose and send Right to Start’s newsletter, optimizing the newsletter for reach and engagement

  • Create and manage content and conversations within Right to Start’s digital community

  • Organize online forums, chats, webinars, and other events to engage the community

What we’re looking for:

  • 4+ years of experience in digital community building, social media management, and connecting online communities

  • Track record of working efficiently under pressure

  • Strong organizational skills and highly detail-oriented

  • Passion for entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial advocacy, and removing barriers that entrepreneurs face

  • Empathetic leader who is an effective relationship builder

  • Strong skills in engaging and communicating with a wide variety of people, internal and externally, whether employees, contractors, volunteers, or the public, and from diverse backgrounds, identities, ideologies, and geographies

  • Strong writing skills with minimal external editing required

What would set you apart

  • Firsthand entrepreneurial experience 

  • Genuine entrepreneurial attitude

  • Experience in and enthusiasm for entrepreneurial policy

  • Experience with community and/or ecosystem building at both the hyper-local and national levels

  • Experience running programs as they scale from small to large

Compensation

$60K-$80K, but range is flexible commensurate with skills and experience
